Since I always call Poetry Against Torture the "torture book," while an other calls it "the poetry book," I find myself calling the new book–"Art After Allegory" or "Against Allegory"– by the sobriquet, "the love book." Planned with four chapters: 1.) against allegory [forthcoming in Seamus Dean’s Field Day Anthology] 2.) on Scholem and Benjamin 3.) on poetry, especially the late William Carlos Williams 4.) on Rembrandt’s Bathsheba and, it now seems likely, Shakespeare’s Rosalind.
